Carpe Diem is the Latin phrase meaning seize the day. The idea of Transcendentalism is all about taking chances, and living in the moment. Which is why I chose this piece of artwork. The impact of transcendentalism can be found in almost every aspect of modern life even though it might not be obvious at first. Lately I have struggled with coming up with another connection to transcendentalism. In reality i have not had much time to research, because this time of year always gets crazy for me. However, the idea struck me just the other day that this book I read a year or two ago for summer reading seemed to incorporate some of the tenets for transcendentalism.
