Wednesday, March 23, 2016. My moari myth Hine-Moana and Kiwa. Hine-moana, the Sea woman and Kiwa the great ocean, are all over the land Aotearoa. Hine-Moana is the lady of rivers. The rivers helped keep her alive by feeding her their waters. The children of Hine-Moana and Kiwa is the wavy seaweed and all the critters that live tucked away in their shells. The sand woman, the Shingle woman and Rakahore all help protect the Earth Mother from wild Hine-Moana.
